a song about saying goodbye to one thing and hello to another, something i did quite often in high school and college with old cars, which were still very cheap at the time. now all of those fun beat up cars from the 1960s just aren't around anymore, and when they are they're much more expensive than the $200-$300 ones i'd buy until they died, usually someplace inconvenient. i discovered that i could call for a ride, take off the license plates, and just leave them on the side of the road. they'd get towed away and i'd never hear a thing. then i'd buy another one and drive it for as long as it lasted.
