about

in 2001 these songs were recorded in a little old house at 135 Carpenter Street on the West Side of Providence, RI by former Purple Ivy Shadows singer/guitarist Chris Daltry. the album wasn't physically released until 2006, when it came out on CD as a limited edition on 75orLess Records, then later reissued by 'Merican Recordings.

Some of these songs were later re-recorded with full band backing for later albums by the 'Mericans, but these acoustic versions are the originals - and this album is where the 'Mericans began.

Special thanks to Will Rice, Joel Thibodeau and Margie Wienk for their musical contributions - their parts made simple ideas seem bigger and better.

Thanks also to Jud Ehrbar for loaning the 'Mericans the adat machine that was used to record this project + thanks to Thom Monahan for additional equipment and recording advice + thank you Shawn Greenlee for mastering and sequencing this record.
